Football Recap: Brookfield Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Brookfield lost against Springfield back in August of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Warriors fell 20-7 to the Tigers. The Warriors were down 20-0 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Brayden Baird was nothing short of spectacular for Springfield: he rushed for 69 yards and a pair of scores, and also threw for 94 yards and one touchdown. The dominant performance also gave Baird a new career-high in rushing touchdowns (two). Springfield also got a significant boost from Alex Caldwell, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 98 yards.

Brookfield's loss was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Springfield, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Brookfield will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Champion at 7:00 p.m. on September 12. As for Springfield, they will head out on the road to challenge Garfield at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
