Football Game Preview: Borger Bulldogs vs. Denver City Mustangs

The Borger Bulldogs will head out on the road to take on the Denver City Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Borger is looking for their season's first win.

In Friday's Canine Competition, Borger didn't have enough. They were dealt a 45-0 defeat at the hands of Dalhart on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 985th, while the Wolves are ranked 481st).

Meanwhile, Denver City played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by Seminole and fell 75-0. The Mustangs have struggled against the Indians recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Denver City's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Borger, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-5.

Everything came up roses for Borger against Denver City in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 28-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bulldogs since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
