Basketball Game Preview: St. Pius X Panthers vs. Concordia Lutheran Crusaders

The St. Pius X Panthers will take on the Concordia Lutheran Crusaders at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Pius X will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.

St. Pius X will bounce into Tuesday's matchup after beating St. Agnes Academy, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. St. Pius X came out on top in a nail-biter against St. Agnes Academy on Friday, sneaking past 34-31.

Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 20-20 at halftime, Concordia Lutheran was not quite Village's equal in the second half on Thursday. They took a 46-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Vikings. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Crusaders came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 376th, while the Vikings are ranked 796th).

This is the second loss in a row for Concordia Lutheran and nudges their season record down to 15-9. As for St. Pius X, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 21-2 record this season.

St. Pius X suffered a grim 57-37 defeat to Concordia Lutheran in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. Can St. Pius X avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
