Softball Recap: Findlay Takes a Loss

Findlay dropped their record down to 8-4 on Wednesday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins at home. They lost 13-0 to the Perrysburg Yellow Jackets. The Trojans were not able to make up for their defeat to the Yellow Jackets from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

As for Perrysburg, the win was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-1. Considering they have won seven matches by more than eight runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

For Perrysburg's part, Bella Click looked comfortable as she pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Click has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Hayley Griggs, who fired off three home runs and seven RBI while going 3-for-5. Those three home runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Yesenia You, who went 4-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Findlay will host Defiance at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Trojans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bulldogs have averaged an impressive 6.7 runs per game this season. As for Perrysburg, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Whitmer at 5:00 p.m. The Panthers will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Yellow Jackets surely won't give up without a fight.
