Soccer Game Preview: Churchill vs. Ashland

The Churchill Lancers will take on the Ashland Grizzlies at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Churchill is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. They never let Thurston get on the board and left with a 6-0 win on Thursday. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded Churchill with their most commanding win of the season.

Meanwhile, Ashland hasn't lost a match since September 13th, a trend which continued in their latest game on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 5-0 margin over Crater. The result was nothing new for Ashland, who have now won six matches by five goals or more so far this season.

Ashland is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-1-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up two goals over those five contests. As for Churchill, the win got them back to even at 5-5-2.
