Baseball Recap: Oak Hall Has No Trouble Against Hawthorne

Oak Hall lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Hawthorne, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Thursday's game. The Eagles blew past the Hornets 18-12 on Thursday. The Eagles not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since February 10th.

Gavin Jones was incredible, going 4-for-5 with one home run, four runs, and five RBI. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Aaron Akins was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 4-for-5.

Oak Hall always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive matches.

The victory got Oak Hall back to even at 5-5. As for Hawthorne, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-7.

Oak Hall wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 9-2 loss against Newberry on the 31st. As for Hawthorne, they have also already played their next game, a 21-9 win against Peniel Baptist Academy on the 28th.
