Football Game Preview: Hillcrest Hornets vs. Bolivar Liberators

Hillcrest hasn't had much luck against Bolivar recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Hornets will face off against the Liberators at 7:00 p.m. Hillcrest has given up an average of 43 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 55-13, which was the final score in Hillcrest's tilt against Logan-Rogersville on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Hornets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri football rankings (they are ranked 246th, while the Wildcats are ranked 90th).

Meanwhile, after soaring to 37 points the game before, Bolivar was a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. They came up short against West Plains, falling 35-12.

Bolivar's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Hillcrest, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6.

Hillcrest was taken down by Bolivar 48-7 when the teams last played back in October of 2024. Can the Hornets avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
