Recap: Benjamin Russell Wildcats vs. Chilton County Tigers
The Benjamin Russell Wildcats can now show off four landslide victories after their most recent match on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Chilton County 65-38 on the road. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 45-14.
Chilton County's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Damarien Floyd, who scored eight points. Another player making a difference was Justin Godwin, who scored four points along with six rebounds and three steals.
The win was the fourth in a row for Benjamin Russell, bringing their record for this year to 8-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.3 points per game. As for Chilton County, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-13.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Benjamin Russell will take on Calera at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Chilton County won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Jemison at 6:30 p.m. on January 19th. Jemison is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.
