Softball Game Preview: Catonsville Comets vs. Sparrows Point Pointers

The Catonsville Comets are taking a road trip to square off against the Sparrows Point Pointers at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Tuesday, Catonsville came up short against Perry Hall and fell 8-3. The Comets have struggled against the Gators recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Eastern Tech hit Sparrows Point with a seven-run fifth inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Pointers lost 11-0 to the Mavericks. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Pointers have suffered against the Mavericks since April 25, 2023.

Sparrows Point moved to 7-7 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Catonsville, their loss dropped their record down to 8-5.

Catonsville couldn't quite finish off Sparrows Point in their previous meeting on April 1st and fell 16-14. Can the Comets avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
