Softball Game Preview: Pisgah Bears vs. Franklin Panthers

For the second straight game, Pisgah will face off against Franklin. The Bears will head out on the road to take on the Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Pisgah's pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so Franklin's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Pisgah and Franklin, and Pisgah kept the tradition alive. The Bears came out on top against the Panthers by a score of 8-3 on Tuesday.

Lilly Inman spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on nine hits.

On the hitting side, Alexis Markos was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaiden Smith, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs and one double.

Pisgah has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games. As for Franklin, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-3.

Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Thursday. Pisgah hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.5 home runs per game. However, it's not like Franklin struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.8 home runs.
