Volleyball Recap: Sofia Hernandez Key Part of Team Effort in Panthers Win

After losing to Sheridan Hills Christian the last time they met, Franklin Academy decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Panthers came out on top against the Sharks by a score of 3-1 on Friday.

The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-17, 17-25, 25-18.

Franklin Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Sofia Hernandez out in front who had 23 digs and two assists. Hernandez is crushing it when it comes to digs: she's had at least 23 every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Agua Santa-Molina, who had 24 assists and seven digs.

Franklin Academy was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 11 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in September of 2024.

Franklin Academy's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Sheridan Hills Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Franklin Academy has already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Academy for Innovative Education on the 25th. As for Sheridan Hills Christian, they will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on Edison Private at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
