Baseball Recap: Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn Takes a Loss

Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 26-1 to the Akron-Westfield Westerners. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Hawks of the 25-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in June of 2024.

Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn's record is now 0-6. As for Akron-Westfield, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-5.

Coming up, Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn will face off against Hinton at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Blackhawks will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something the Hawks surely won't give up without a fight. As for Akron-Westfield, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 12-2 victory against Alta-Aurelia on the 10th.
