Bellevue East has gone a perfect 8-0 against Bryan recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Chieftains will be playing at home against the Bears at 4:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Bellevue East is headed into Tuesday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight games on Monday. They came up short against Omaha South, falling 12-3.
Ben Shearer was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.
Meanwhile, Bryan fell victim to York and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They lost 19-0 to the Dukes.
Jacob Lang and Turner Marlowe stepped up to the plate in a big way. Lang went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI, while Marlowe went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Trey Fondren, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run.
Bellevue East's defeat dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Bryan, their loss dropped their record down to 5-10.
Bryan's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Bellevue East hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .322. It's a different story for Bryan, though, as they've only averaged .249. Will they be able to contain Bellevue East's hitters?
Everything went Bellevue East's way against Bryan in their previous matchup back in April of 2025, as Bellevue East made off with a 13-1 victory. Will the Chieftains repeat their success, or do the Bears have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
