Football Recap: Chicago Hope Academy Takes a Loss

If Chicago Hope Academy was riding high fresh off their 64-0 takedown of St. Edward last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Chicago Hope Academy had to suffer through a 48-20 loss at the hands of the Bishop McNamara Fightin' Irish. Chicago Hope Academy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Bishop McNamara apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Bishop McNamara had a senior duo take command as Julius May rushed for 237 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 7.9 yards per carry and Jordan Callaway rushed for 106 yards and a pair of TDs on only 15 carries. Those 237 rushing yards set a new season-high mark for May.

Having lost for the first time this season, Chicago Hope Academy fell to 7-1. As for Bishop McNamara, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chicago Hope Academy will host Chicago Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Bishop McNamara, they will welcome St. Edward at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Fightin' Irish are facing the Green Wave at the right time seeing as the Green Wave are stuck on a six-game losing streak.
