Football Recap: Logan Starts off Right with Win over Hillcrest

Logan gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They blew past the Hillcrest Huskies, posting a 47-14 win. The Grizzlies pushed the score to 47-7 by the end of the third, a deficit the Huskies cut but never quite recovered from.

Easton Favero was nothing short of spectacular: he threw for 214 yards and four TDs while completing 75% of his passes, and also punched in one score on the ground. What's more, he racked up 16 rushing yards, the most he's had since back in September of 2024.

Another reason for the win was Logan's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Zeke Taylor, Anthony Holmes, and Grayden Olsen, who each picked up one sack apiece. Logan received some extra help from Taylor, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Logan will challenge Granger at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Hillcrest, they will take on Union at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
