Basketball Recap: Rossville Takes a Loss

On Tuesday, the Rossville Bulldogs were within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 46-42 to the Royal Valley Panthers.

Royal Valley was led to victory by KiWe Miller and Panno Wahwassuck. Miller dropped a double-double with 20 points and 14 rebounds, while Wahwassuck went 6-for-14 en route to 17 points. With that strong performance, Miller is now averaging an impressive 8.1 boards per game. Another player making a difference was Samantha Klotz, who posted a point along with 11 rebounds and six blocks.

Rossville's loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Royal Valley, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season.

Looking ahead, Rossville will venture away from home to square off against Abilene at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Royal Valley, they will host Silver Lake on Friday.
