Volleyball Game Preview: Central Rockets vs. Dundee-Crown Chargers + How To Watch

The Central Rockets will head out to take on the Dundee-Crown Chargers at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Central had taken Crystal Lake Central down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Tuesday. The Rockets fell 2-0 to the Tigers. The Rockets haven't had much luck with the Tigers recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

The match finished with set scores of 25-9, 25-7.

Meanwhile, Dundee-Crown had already won three in a row and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Wolves. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Chargers have posted since October 14th.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Dundee-Crown who won the one that mattered. The final score came out to 27-25, 21-25, 25-20.

Central better focus on containing Maura Minogue and Nina Marcanti as the pair were huge in Dundee-Crown's win. Minogue had 26 digs and three assists, while Marcanti had eight digs and three aces. That's the most digs Minogue has posted over her last eight contests.

Dundee-Crown's win bumped their record up to 16-17. As for Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-14.

Central beat Dundee-Crown 2-0 when the teams last played back in September. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rockets since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
