Volleyball Recap: Combs Takes a Loss

Combs suffered their biggest loss since September 23rd on Friday. They lost 3-0 to the Payson Longhorns. If the Coyotes were looking for revenge after losing 2-1 to the Longhorns when the teams met back in October of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Chloe Gonzales paced Combs' offense, picking up four kills. Gonzales got some help from Ambriah Lujan and her six assists. Addison Roberts and Bailee McGhan kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with two aces apiece.

Combs' defeat dropped their record down to 8-17. As for Payson, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season.

Combs wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Casa Grande on the 10th. As for Payson, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-1 win against Arizona Lutheran Academy on the 10th.
