Recap: Warren Central Warriors vs. Jennings County Panthers
The Warren Central Warriors suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Saturday. They were dealt a 70-35 defeat at the hands of Jennings County. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Warren Central has scored all season.
Several Warriors players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Denyha Jacobs, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and six steals. Jacobs has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Denell Jacobs was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with six rebounds and six steals.
Warren Central struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
This is the second loss in a row for Warren Central and nudges their season record down to 11-9. As for Jennings County, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 19-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Warren Central will take on North Central at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Jennings County, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Rushville at 7:30 p.m. on January 22nd. Rushville is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses.
