Softball Recap: Lompoc Now 6-1 over Last Seven Games

Lompoc took a seven-run loss the last time they faced off against Arroyo Grande, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Braves had just enough and edged out the Eagles 5-3. Five seems to be a good number for the Braves as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Lily Drysol spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on six hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Rianna Stouppe, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Grace Day, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Lompoc hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in seven consecutive matchups.

Lompoc has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-10 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.1 runs over those games. As for Arroyo Grande, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 9-18.

As of now, neither Lompoc nor the Eagles have any future games scheduled.
