Soccer Game Preview: Englewood vs. Lake County

For the first time this season, Englewood will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will be playing in front of their home fans against the Lake County Panthers at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Englewood will be strutting in after a win while Lake County will be coming in after a defeat.

Englewood's defense heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed last Friday. They blew past Rocky Mountain Prep SMART 7-0. Jaqeuline Valente Guerrero was a massive factor in the win as she booted in three goals all by herself.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Lake County and The Pinnacle, and The Pinnacle kept the tradition alive. Lake County came up short against The Pinnacle on Saturday, falling 7-2.

Lake County's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Englewood, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Englewood skirted past Lake County 1-0 when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Will Englewood repeat their success, or does Lake County has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
