Basketball Game Preview: Winneconne Wolves vs. Laconia Spartans

The Winneconne Wolves are taking a road trip to take on the Laconia Spartans at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Winneconne knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 12 games -- so hopefully Laconia likes a good challenge.

Winneconne is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past North Fond du Lac 101-46 on Thursday. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Wolves with their most commanding win of the season.

Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Laconia's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell just short of St. Mary's Springs by a score of 67-65. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Spartans came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 49th, while the Ledgers are ranked 172nd).

Laconia's defeat dropped their record down to 8-2. As for Winneconne, their victory bumped their record up to 4-8.

Winneconne opened the new year with a less-than-successful 70-59 loss to Laconia. Can Winneconne avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
