Softball Recap: De Anza Comes Up Short

De Anza fell victim to Salesian College Preparatory and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They came up short against the Pride, falling 11-0. The loss continues a trend for the Dons in their meetings with the Pride: they've now lost five in a row.

De Anza saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maria Uriarte, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. That stolen base marked the first that Uriarte snagged this season.

De Anza's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Salesian College Preparatory, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-5 record this season.

De Anza will be playing in front of their home fans against San Leandro at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. San Leandro will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something De Anza surely won't give up without a fight. As for Salesian College Preparatory, they are taking a road trip to take on Northgate at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Salesian College Preparatory's pitchers better be ready for this one: Northgate has averaged an impressive 8.8 runs per game this season.
