Softball Recap: East Lansing Comes Up Short

East Lansing was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Portland Raiders. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Trojans of the 7-3 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2025.

East Lansing's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Portland, with the victory, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-6.

Coming up, East Lansing will square off against Charlotte at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Portland, they will challenge Olivet at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
