Football Recap: Coxsackie-Athens Takes a Loss

Coxsackie-Athens was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They received a blow as they fell 28-12 to the Voorheesville Blackbirds. The Riverhawks lost against the Blackbirds in their previous head to head back in October of 2021, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 48-8 score last time.

Although Coxsackie-Athens took the loss, they still got scores from Rich Perino and Craig Farrell.

Coxsackie-Athens' defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Voorheesville, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 3-6 record this season.

Coxsackie-Athens will take on Cohoes at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Riverhawks will be up against the Tigers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 59.75 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. Voorheesville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
