Baseball Recap: Pomeroy Takes a Loss

Pomeroy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They fell 6-2 to the Sunnyside Christian Knights. The matchup marked the Pirates' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Pomeroy saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gunner Magill, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Pomeroy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Sunnyside Christian, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 5-2-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pomeroy will face off against Non Varsity Opponent at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Sunnyside Christian, they will take on Riverside Christian at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Knights' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Crusaders have averaged an impressive 9.8 runs per game this season.
