Softball Recap: Mitchell Gets Their First 'W'

Mitchell's game on Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They blew past the Palmer Terrors 22-14. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Marauders considering their one-run performance the matchup before.

Delilah Epps was a standout: she got on base in all six of her plate appearances while logging 4 RBIs, 2 stolen bases, and 2 runs. The four RBIs were her most since at least September 11th last year, when she brought in four vs. Palmer. The team also got some help from Mira Pringle, who got on base in five of her six plate appearances while logging 4 runs, 2 RBIs, and 1 stolen base.

Mitchell took advantage of their speed and finished the game with 10 stolen bases. That's the best they've done in that category since at least September 11, 2025.

On Palmer's side, they saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lydia Wilson, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances while posting 2 RBIs, 2 runs, and 2 walks. Wilson also struck out seven batters, her most since at least August 28th last year. Another was Camila Vazquez, who got on base in all seven of her plate appearances while posting 1 home run, 2 RBIs, and 1 triple.

Mitchell's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-8. As for Palmer, their defeat was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-9.

Mitchell will have a chance to go back-to-back against Palmer: the pair will be back at it again later today.
