Volleyball Game Preview: Roanoke-Benson Rockets vs. El Paso-Gridley Titans

Roanoke-Benson hasn't had much luck against El Paso-Gridley recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Rockets will head out on the road to take on the Titans at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with 11 defeats in a row, Roanoke-Benson turned things around against Kewanee on Saturday. They came out on top against the Boilermakers by a score of 2-0.

Meanwhile, El Paso-Gridley posted their closest victory since September 13th on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out Lexington 2-1. The win continues a trend for the Titans in their matchups with the Minutemen: they've now won four in a row.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was El Paso-Gridley who won the one that mattered. The final score came out to 27-25, 20-25, 25-20.

Roanoke-Benson's record now sits at 2-17-1. As for El Paso-Gridley, their record is now 15-6.

Roanoke-Benson couldn't quite get it done against El Paso-Gridley when the teams last played back in September of 2024 as they fell 2-0. Can the Rockets avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
