Basketball Recap: Johnson Central Skates Past Floyd Central with Ease

Johnson Central lost to Floyd Central back in February of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. The Johnson Central Golden Eagles simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Floyd Central Jaguars 86-59. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Golden Eagles.

Leading Johnson Central to victory were Austin Slone and Brayden Shepherd. Slone dropped a double-double on 29 points and 18 boards, while Shepherd went 11 of 22 en route to 31 points and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Mason Mckenzie, who posted ten points.

Johnson Central smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

When it comes to explaining why Floyd Central lost, don't look at Dylan Boyd. Despite the final result, he went 7 for 16 on his way to 21 points. Boyd is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games.
