Softball Game Preview: GRACE Christian Eagles vs. Wake Christian Academy Bulldogs

GRACE Christian hasn't had much luck against Wake Christian Academy recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Eagles will be playing at home against the Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. GRACE Christian knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past nine games -- so hopefully Wake Christian Academy likes a good challenge.

Last Wednesday, GRACE Christian made easy work of Durham Academy and carried off a 12-2 win. Considering the Eagles have won eight matches by more than nine runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Audrey Lester, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Lydia Lester, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

GRACE Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .462. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .370 or higher in nine consecutive contests.

Neuse Christian Academy hit Wake Christian Academy with a four-run sixth inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Bulldogs fell just short of the Lions by a score of 9-8.

Chloe Williams was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Lea Morgan was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

GRACE Christian's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-2. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Wake Christian Academy, they now have a losing record of 6-7.
