Softball Game Preview: Bethesda Christian Patriots vs. Heritage Christian Eagles

Bethesda Christian hasn't had much luck against Heritage Christian recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Patriots are taking a road trip to challenge the Eagles at 5:30 p.m. Bethesda Christian will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last.

On Thursday, Bethesda Christian earned an 8-4 victory over Clinton Prairie. The win continues a trend for the Patriots in their matchups with the Gophers: they've now won three in a row.

Annah Heath spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on three hits.

At the plate, Bethesda Christian let Avery Gibbs and Eliza Gibbs run wild. Avery went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double, while Eliza got on base in four of her eight plate appearances with two RBI. Those three RBI gave Avery a new career-high. Alyssa Crowder also deserves some recognition as she got her first hits of the season.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Heritage Christian's offense. They lost 10-0 to Triton Central on Thursday. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Heritage Christian's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Bethesda Christian, the victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 3-4.
