Baseball Recap: Olive Takes a Loss

Olive was the 19-18 winner over Shidler when they last played one another last Monday, but their luck changed this time around. The Wildcats fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 15-14 on Monday.

Aiden Hagood led a balanced group of hitters, scoring four runs and stealing seven bases while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. He is becoming a predictor of Olive's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 2-1 (and 5-7 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Ty Cleveland, who went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one triple.

Olive now has a losing record of 7-8. As for Shidler, their win ended an eight-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-6.

Looking ahead, Olive will square off against Depew at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Shidler, they will face off against South Coffeyville at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday.
