Baseball Recap: Timpanogos Wins Going Away Against Westlake

Timpanogos was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last match, but they sure didn't let that happen against Westlake on Friday. The Timpanogos Timberwolves blew past the Westlake Thunder 18-1. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Timberwolves considering their two-run performance the game before.

The team relied heavily on Cooper Hawkes, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four runs, and five RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Carter Hall was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-2.

Timpanogos always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .621. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Westlake only posted an OBP of .250.

The win got Timpanogos back to even at 1-1. As for Westlake, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Looking ahead, Timpanogos will take on ALA - Gilbert North at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. As for Westlake, they will be taking part in a tournament against Ogden at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
