Volleyball Recap: Ralston Valley's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Saturday

After flying high against University on Saturday, Ralston Valley came back down to earth. The Mustangs came up short against the Resurrection Christian Cougars on Saturday, falling 3-0. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Mustangs haven't been shut out since back in August.

Their offense was headlined by Lily Grau and Reese Barry, who picked up six kills apiece. They got some help from Taylor Harteker and her 17 assists. She was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

Resurrection Christian's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Blake Coors, who had 18 digs and three aces. That's the most digs Coors has posted since back in September. Another player making a difference was Jada Nordhagen, who had seven digs and three aces.

The defeat snapped Ralston Valley's winning streak at five matches and leaves them with a 19-4 record. As for Resurrection Christian, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 21-1.

Ralston Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Resurrection Christian, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-2 loss against Valor Christian on the 1st.
