Softball Preview: Quakertown Panthers vs. Abington Galloping Ghosts

Quakertown has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the Abington Galloping Ghosts at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Quakertown is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.4 runs per game this season.

Quakertown is hoping to deliver their fans another blowout on Tuesday, just like they did against Hatboro-Horsham (and have done all season long). Quakertown put the hurt on Hatboro-Horsham with a sharp 11-0 win on Thursday. Not much got past Abbey Wagner, who gave up just eight hits and racked up nine Ks to keep Hatboro-Horsham off the board. Wagner has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive pitching appearances.

On the hitting side, Leah Schwalm was incredible, going 2-for-3 with a home run, four RBI, and a stolen base. Madison Mallery was another key contributor, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.

Meanwhile, Abington is still looking for their season's first win. They took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of Hatboro-Horsham last Thursday.

Quakertown's win was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-1. As for Abington, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-7.
