Recap: Union Mine Diamondbacks vs. Rosemont Wolverine

The Union Mine Diamondbacks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matches by 20 points or more this season. They breezed by Rosemont on the road to the tune of 83-56. Given Union Mine's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 184th, while Rosemont is ranked 913th), the result on Tuesday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Nate Sweet was his usual excellent self, scoring 42 points along with five rebounds and three steals. The game was his 11th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaac Zmerzlikar, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds.

Union Mine's victory was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-2. As for Rosemont, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-11.

Union Mine is on the road again on Friday and play against El Dorado at 7:00 p.m. on January 12th. As for Rosemont, they will be playing at home against Bradshaw Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Bradshaw Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past six contests -- so hopefully Rosemont likes a good challenge.
