Softball Recap: Valley Center Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Valley Center can now relate to. They fell 9-5 to the Maranatha Christian Eagles on Tuesday. The Jaguars just can't catch a break and have now endured six losses in a row.

Su'La Devers made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Another player making a difference was Autumn Wageman, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Valley Center's defeat dropped their record down to 9-15. As for Maranatha Christian, their win was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-4.

Valley Center does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Maranatha Christian, they will venture away from home to challenge Madison at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Warhawks have averaged an impressive 9.5 runs per game this season.
