Volleyball Recap: Lexington Takes a Loss

Lexington was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the East Lawrence Eagles. The Golden Bears were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2017.

Jaylee Williams paced Lexington's offense, picking up six kills. Williams got some help from Katelyn Sullivan and her 16 assists.

Lexington's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for East Lawrence, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-3.

Coming up, Lexington will challenge Huntsville Christian Academy at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for East Lawrence, they have already played their next game, a 2-1 loss against Deshler on the 28th.
