Basketball Recap: Derry Takes a Loss

The Derry Trojans ended up a good deal behind the Forest Hills Rangers on Thursday and lost 83-67.

Despite the loss, Derry still got an impressive performance from Brayden Robinson, who almost dropped a double-double with 29 points and nine rebounds. Stanley Rajkovich was another key player, going 8-for-17 on his way to 20 points.

Forest Hills was led to victory by Koy McGough and Dylan Stohon. McGough shot 63% from the field en route to 32 points and seven assists, while Stohon went 8-for-13 to rack up 23 points and three steals. The contest was Stohon's 27th in a row with at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brandon Gregovich, who shot 56% from the field on his way to 11 points and seven boards.

Derry's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

Derry wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 64-52 win against Connellsville on the 9th. As for Forest Hills, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 68-37 victory against Bald Eagle Area on the 5th.
