Preview: Brewer Bears vs. Saginaw Rough Riders

Brewer is on a 14-game streak of home wins, while Saginaw is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Brewer Bears will take on the Saginaw Rough Riders at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Brewer focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Tuesday.

Brewer scored the most points they've had all season to find success. They breezed by Northwest on the road to the tune of 65-31. That 34 points margin sets a new team best for Brewer this season.

Brewer got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jayvion Johnson out in front who scored 12 points along with four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Johnson has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Julian Perez, who scored 16 points along with two steals.

Meanwhile, Saginaw was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 45-41 to Aledo. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Saginaw came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 132nd, while Aledo is ranked 308th).

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Jason Roseberry, who scored 16 points along with five assists and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Julius Brundage, who scored 14 points.

Brewer is on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 16 games, which provided a nice bump to their 23-5 record this season. As for Saginaw, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 22-6.

Brewer came up short against Saginaw in their previous meeting on January 2nd, falling 35-31. Will Brewer have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get analysis of the match and other basketball content.
