Volleyball Recap: Hammond Academy of Science & Tech Hawks vs. East Chicago Central Cardinals

Hammond Academy of Science & Tech was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the East Chicago Central Cardinals. The shutout was out of character for the Hawks seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in August.

The final score came out to 25-20, 25-12, 25-17.

East Chicago Central got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kamya Mack out in front who had 22 digs. Those 22 digs gave Mack a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaslene Guido, who had 17 assists and five aces.

Hammond Academy of Science & Tech's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for East Chicago Central, their win ended a three-match drought on the road and puts them at 10-13.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Hammond Academy of Science & Tech will head out to take on Portage Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for East Chicago Central, they will venture away from home to challenge Hammond Morton at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
