Softball Game Preview: Caldwell Hornets vs. Giddings Buffaloes

For the second straight game, Caldwell will face off against Giddings. The Hornets will venture away from home to challenge the Buffaloes at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Caldwell has struggled recently with five defeats in a row, while Giddings will arrive with four straight victories.

Caldwell came up short against Giddings on Friday, falling 11-3.

Samone Clark put in work no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and seven unearned) runs off 12 hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.

In other batting news, Mayzi Witherwax made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while going 3-for-4. Brynn Morton also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Giddings' win bumped their record up to 12-8. As for Caldwell, they now have a losing record of 12-13-1.
