Basketball Recap: Cleveland Has No Trouble Against Middle Creek

Cleveland won the last time they faced Middle Creek and things went their way on Monday too. The Rams took down the Mustangs 58-42. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Rams.

Cleveland found their leader in sophomore Tjay Brunson, who posted 25 points and eight boards. Another player making a difference was Trey Atkinson, who had 12 points in addition to eight rebounds and seven assists.

Despite the loss, Middle Creek had strong showings from Brittain Queen, who put up 20 points, and George Daniels, who scored 12 points and five assists. Queen's big performance that evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ben Shaffer, who earned two points and six boards.

Cleveland has also opened the season with a perfect 2-0 record. As for Middle Creek, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Cleveland has already played their next game, a 73-61 victory against West Johnston on the 25th. As for Middle Creek, they will take on Apex at 6:30 p.m. on the 2nd.
