Football Game Preview: South San Antonio Bobcats vs. Winn Mavericks + Official Tickets

South San Antonio is a perfect 3-0 against Winn since October of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Bobcats will be playing at home against the Mavericks at 7:30 p.m. Winn took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on South San Antonio, who comes in off a win.

Having struggled with four defeats in a row, South San Antonio turned things around against Southwest Legacy on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 28-12 win over the Titans.

South San Antonio can attribute much of their success to Anthony Mata, who threw for 207 yards and two TDs. Those 207 passing yards gave Mata a new career-high.

Another reason for the win was South San Antonio's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for five sacks. In that department, Brayden Booth was the leader with two. He also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with 13. Another thorn in Southwest Legacy's side was Cash Winters, who picked up a sack and made 13 total tackles (2.0 for loss).

Meanwhile, Winn came up short against Southside on Thursday and fell 20-7. The Mavericks haven't had much luck with the Cardinals recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Winn's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for South San Antonio, their victory bumped their record up to 4-5.

Everything went South San Antonio's way against Winn in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, as South San Antonio made off with a 32-7 win. Do the Bobcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Mavericks turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
