Basketball Recap: El Paso Victorious

Andress came into Friday's match looking for another win against El Paso, but Brody John wouldn't allow it. The El Paso Tigers walked away with a 73-63 win over the Andress Eagles on Friday thanks in part to John, who went 6 for 15 on his way to 22 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in blocks (two).

Another player making a difference was Sebastian Ruvalcaba, who went 6 of 10 en route to 14 points. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played.

El Paso's victory bumped their record up to 15-13. As for Andress, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-10.

El Paso and Andress should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. El Paso will square off against Jefferson at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday up 651 places (576 vs. 1227). El Paso is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.3 points per game this season. Similarly, Andress (ranked 224th) will meet Burges (ranked 783rd) at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
