Basketball Recap: Clearwater Skates Past North Fort Myers with Ease

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Clearwater walked away with it. They simply couldn't be stopped on Thursday as they easily beat the North Fort Myers Red Knights 59-14. The Tornadoes have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 15 contests by 20 points or more this season.

Among those leading the charge was Taina Sturdivant, who posted 21 points. She is becoming a predictor of Clearwater's success: when she posts at least 15 points the team is 9-1 (and 7-8 when she doesn't). Peyton Flournoy was another key player, putting up 14 points.

Clearwater is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-9 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 41.8 points. As for North Fort Myers, their loss dropped their record down to 20-6.

Coming up, Clearwater will face off against East Bay at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. East Bay will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something Clearwater surely won't give up without a fight. North Fort Myers does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
