Basketball Recap: Andrean Sets Scoring Season-High Against South Bend St. Joseph

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Andrean). They blew past the South Bend St. Joseph Huskies 65-38 on Saturday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Fighting 59ers also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2022.

Maddie Walton was her usual excellent self, going 9 for 14 en route to 23 points and eight boards. Kate Sippel was another key player, going 5 of 7 on her way to 15 points.

Andrean smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as South Bend St. Joseph only pulled down seven offensive boards.

Despite the loss, South Bend St. Joseph still got an impressive performance from Kayla Woods, who posted 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kenadie Schrock, who scored five points and three steals.

Andrean is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a massive bump to their 13-10 record this season. As for South Bend St. Joseph, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-7.

Andrean will square off against Chesterton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. South Bend St. Joseph has already played their next game (against Elkhart), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
