In what's become a running theme this season, the Thomas Jefferson Gryphons gave their fans yet another huge win on Friday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 51-12 victory over East Gaston. The win was familiar territory for Thomas Jefferson who now have ten in a row.
Thomas Jefferson found their leader in underclassman Brooklyn Twitty, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. Twitty is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last eight games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Samara Jones, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds.
Thomas Jefferson pushed their record up to 15-3 with that victory, which was their tenth straight at home. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 31.1 points. As for East Gaston, they are on a eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-14.
Thomas Jefferson will head out on the road to face off against Burns at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Burns will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 384th, while Thomas Jefferson is ranked 171st). As for East Gaston, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Cherryville at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. East Gaston is facing Cherryville at the right time seeing as Cherryville is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
