Brycen Duncan went supernova for Empire, throwing for 204 yards and four touchdowns, while also rushing for 40 yards. Nikolas Bejarano was Duncan's top target, picking up 55 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
La Joya Community's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Empire, the win (which was their seventh in a row dating back to last season) raised their record to 2-0.
