Soccer Game Preview: Kearny vs. Valhalla

The Kearny Komets and the Valhalla Norsemen will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

After two halves, Kearny and La Jolla settled for a 0-0 draw.

Meanwhile, Valhalla was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against Patrick Henry, falling 5-1. The match was a 0-0 toss-up at halftime, but the Norsemen couldn't quite close it out.

Valhalla's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7-1. With that draw, Kearny's record moves to 2-1-2.

Kearny beat Valhalla 3-1 in their previous matchup two weeks ago. The rematch might be a little tougher for Kearny since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
